Our process for a no-fuss family photography experience.

At Grain & Weave, we believe in keeping things beautifully simple, much like our photography style.

Our process, cherished by thousands of families throughout Sydney since 2016, is a testament to the ease and joy we bring to every photo session. In fact, about 30% of our clientele each year are returning customers, a statistic we're particularly proud of as it reflects the trust and satisfaction our families feel.

    Our office hours are Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm and our award-winning team is dedicated to helping you plan the perfect session.

    Reserve Your Date

    Once you find a date that suits you, we'll reserve it for you for 24 hours.

    This gives you time to consult with your family without any pressure.

    We understand the importance of family time and want to ensure you choose a date that works best for everyone.

    Confirm Your Booking

    To confirm your booking, simply follow the link we send to you.

    This link directs you to our packages page, where you can choose the package that best fits your family's needs.

    Once you purchase your package, your reservation is confirmed in our system and an email is sent to you with details on how to plan.

  • In your confirmation email is a link to a session brief; this short form helps you get ready for your shoot and gives you access to heaps of articles to help you plan ahead.

    We don’t need much from you, but a little information goes a long way!

    On shoot day:

    • Your photographer will message you when they are on their way - you can connect with them directly if you have any last-minute questions.

    • The session is relaxed and easy-going and will last around 2 hours, including set-up and take-down. You will be given a booklet and explanation on what happens next.

    • We require very little and can work in any home type in Sydney - we’ve been to all of them!

  • Following your photo session, you will receive a comprehensive booklet outlining all available options. This is a perfect opportunity to discuss your preferences with your photographer and get ready for the next step: your Online Consultation.

    Zoom Appointment: A Closer Look at Your Images

    Your Online Consultation, conducted via Zoom, is a key moment in our process. Here, you can meticulously review and compare your favorite images.

    This interactive session also allows you to explore various collection ideas and see how these images would look on your wall, thanks to our advanced design software.

    Personalize Your Experience

    During this appointment, feel free to ask any questions you might have about our wall-art and digital packages, including details on any ongoing promotions. This is your time to tailor the session to your family's unique needs and preferences.

    Flexible Package Upgrades

    Scheduling Made Easy

    To ensure a seamless transition from your photo shoot to the viewing of your images, we pre-book your Online Consultation in advance. However, we understand the need for flexibility in family life, so you are welcome to reschedule this appointment to a time that suits you better.

What we need
All we need is a room, preferable with a little wall space (1.5m or so for small families). Our photographers are resourceful and professional and we have yet to be unable to find anywhere to work.

What you need
We have all we need in our small kit; lighting and camera gear.
For baby sessions we will bring a small selection of blankets, textures and wraps for babies, but you can also supply your own if you want to!

We will brief you before your session about our recommendations on clothing and styling your in-home family photography session.

In every in-home session your photographer will explain your options and our process, as well as anwser any questions you might have.

Retouching
All your images are retouched in advance by our in-house team, here in Sydney.
We do not send your images to third-party retouchers in other countries, so you can be sure that your images are protected by Australian data protection laws.
